Even after Surgery hours, medical care is still available to you 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Please ring the NHS 111 Service; this is the Medical Emergency Helpline, the call operator will take the relevant details and an assessment will be made, should you require an appointment this will be arranged by the medical deputising service at a Primary Care Centre close to your location. The NHS 111 Service is Free to call on Landline and Mobile.

The NHS 111 Service may off you telephone advice, ask you to visit their 'Out of Hours Centre' or if medically indicated visit you at home. Details of any contact with them are forwarded to us within 24 hours.

There are many ways you can access health care Out Of Hours. They include:

Liverpool Community Health Walk-In Centres

A large proportion of admissions to A&E are unnecessary and could be seen and treated at a Walk-In Centres Across Liverpool. This not only eases pressure on the overburdened Accident and Emergency Units, it prevents Patients waiting for hours unnecessarily for simple treatment and advice which can be accessed easily at Walk-In Centres.

Walk-In Centres should be your first stop for all Patients experiencing; minor infections and rashes, stomach upsets, superficial cuts and bruises, strains and sprains, coughs, colds and flu-like symptoms. They are also able to treat a host of other illnesses, so if you have any questions about whether you should attend the Walk-In Centre please call NHS 111 Service.

The most common reasons for avoidable A&E attendances are:

Stomach upsets including Vomiting and Diarrhoea in Adults or Children/Babies.

Accident & Emergencies / 999

Whatever the time or day, if you or someone else is experiencing severe Chest Pain, Acute Blood Loss or Suspected Broken Bones, you should go to the nearest Accident & Emergency Department or call 999.

The nearest A&E to the Practice is the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Smithdown Children's Walk-In Centre is also Available if you suspect Broken Bones in a Child.
